他大部份都是擔任製片及 Story Teller.
至於導演的話,導過的電影不多,星際大戰第四集(1977)是他的導
的,第五和第六則擔任製片及故事構想者.
THX 1138 及 美國風情畫 也是他導的,不過真的大部份
都是擔製片及電影構思的工作,印地安那瓊斯三部曲就是
史蒂芬史匹柏+喬治盧卡斯的組合，在以前還被稱為魔幻二人組．
導演為史匹柏，電影故事及製片為盧卡斯

1945年  出生於美國加洲
1967年  在南加大學期間所執導的一部科學短片  THX
              或得全美學生影展的最佳影片獎
1970年  在大導演  法國西斯科波拉的慧眼及財立資助下
              導演了他的第一部劇情長片    THX1138
              並於1971年在電影院上映(較少的院線就是)
              但獲得了許多的影評人讚美

而星計際大戰在拍攝之初   遇到許多的困難
但此片也同時創下了影史上的紀錄

喬治一生只導過四部片子,
1.500年後
  是他學生時期的參展作,原長不到一小時,後因受到片商欣上,
  加長成後來的市廠版本.故事現今看來有些老套,就是五百年後,
  人民的生與死全受國家制度控管,男主角想當然耳一定犯了規
  ----讓自己心愛的女人有了,接下來就是一連串的逃亡追殺,
  因為時間久遠,我已忘了個中細目,
  只記得片中五百年後的男男女女都是光頭.............
  全片因成本妓述問題,顯得因陋就簡,但剪接及創作野心,已顯然
  宣告一位大師的產生.

2.美國楓情話
  一群美國青年,在其中幾個即將入伍的前夕,幹的一些瘋狂事......
  也是現今看來不怳虓s鮮的青春校園片,不過喬治刻億以復古的
  手法,x96  表達六十年代青年的的悲與愁,贏得票房影評的雙面
  成功,本片獲奧斯卡包含最佳影片導演的五項題名,不過全部槓龜
  值得一提的是本片捧出一名新人---哈理遜幅特.

3.星際大戰系列的第四集
  這我不用多說這部已成為AMERICAN CULTURE FILM
  這是他第二次題名金像獎最佳導演---槓龜

Visual Effects Society Celebrates a Year in VFX

The Second Annual VES Awards, held at the Hollywood Palladium on Feb. 18, affirmed the snazzy first impression that last year's awards made on guests. Bigger names, a bigger crowd and more complex multimedia segments said that the event had quickly come of age.

The centerpiece of the evening -- the presentation of a lifetime achievement award to George Lucas -- set the tone for the evening on a grand scale. A buzz of anticipation was in the air from the start of the cocktail hour. Tom Atkin, the founder and executive director of VES who is scheduled to leave the society in July, made the opening remarks. "You are the leaders in entertainment storytelling, " he told the audience.

Before the final awards of the evening were given, director James Cameron took the stage to pay homage to George Lucas. Cameron looked back on Lucas's career and the history of Industrial, Light & Magic, which in many ways mirrors the history of modern visual effects. "Nobody could have foreseen the explosion that was about to hit the movie world when George Lucas unveiled 'Star Wars'," said Cameron. He cited the movie as his inspiration to get to work achieving his own goals in film.

Lucas was less reserved than usual as he accepted the lifetime achievement award from his friend and colleague. "This is a very important event, because it's a maturing process for the visual effects industry," he said. Lucas scanned the crowd and chatted affably with the audience, remembering friends who had worked on the first 'Star Wars' film. When asked later if we would be seeing a seventh, eighth and ninth installment of the series, he said unequivocally, "No."

A team from Zoic Studios that included Loni Peristere, Patti Gannon, Ronald Thornton and Chris Zapara were honored for episode 22 of season seven of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"; the episode won the award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Television Series. Zoic also worked on the miniseries that won best visual effects, "Battlestar Galactica," whose winning team was comprised of Gary Hutzel, Kristen Branan, Emile Smith and Lee Stringer.

'The Matrix Reloaded's' "Trailer Top Crash" garnered the award for the Best Single Visual Effect of the Year in any Medium, beating out sequences from "The Hulk" and 'Return of the King.' However, the 'King' was victorious in the final showdown of the evening, taking home the prize for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects  Driven Motion Picture. A portent of what is to come at the Oscars? We shall know, soon enough.

盧卡斯的家裡，有一座收藏極為豐富的圖書館。裡面的藏書以科幻類居多，人文及哲思類亦不少。盧卡斯同時涉獵東方哲學，天行者絕地武士的類似和服服飾、武器光劍，甚至於精神原力、念力之說，其實都有日本及儒家影子。

六集片中，不斷重覆著仁者無敵、忠恕善道、邪不勝正，以及反戰思想。盧卡斯不僅在玩電影娛樂，更在宣揚自己的人生理念。對於安納金受不了誘惑遁入魔道的轉折，是他最引以為傲的戲劇性發展。

「天行者莊園」離舊金山市區約一小時車程，過地標金門大橋隨即轉入青翠山谷。路旁上書「盧卡斯山谷」、「盧卡斯大道」路標，湖泊牧場占地2600英畝。盧卡斯電影公司辦公室、試片廳、會議廳建築林立，250位成員在電影王國裡織夢。

盧卡斯以特效出身，以先見之明創建「ILM特效公司」。除了賺進大筆美金，連李安的「綠巨人浩克」都請他作特效，成功提昇美國電影的市場競爭力。

盧卡斯與好友史蒂芬史匹柏都以娛樂片起家，兩人所合作的「法櫃奇兵」系列，亦膾炙人口。如今其星戰系列已全數推出，愛作夢的喬治盧卡斯年方61歲，創作力正盛，將再推出「法櫃奇兵4 」，電影巨擘精采可期。
